Good little case, but not cheap!

By Peter
I decided that after spending more than £250 on a camera, it would be a false economy to buy a cheap case, so I went for this Lumix-branded one. As with the camera, Panasonic give pride of place to the Lumix name (embossed on the front) rather than Panasonic (on a little grey tag on the back). The case itself is stitched leather, strengthened to make the case semi-rigid to protect your camera better. The interior is the felt-like black material that you often get in good camera cases. A TZ7 fits inside nicely, not so loose that it bangs about, and not so tight that it gets scuffed.

You can't use the camera in the case, like you can with some SLR cases: there's no hole for the lens, so you need to take the camera out of the case to use it. There is a little leather loop to put the camera's camera strap through to keep them together, but the weight of the case flapping about makes it hard to hold the camera steady, so I don't use this. Rather more helpful (if you wear a belt) is the belt-loop, which is just wide enough for a 4cm / 1.5inch belt.

The case is held closed using a magnetic stud, and it can be hard to close the case correctly without looking. It doesn't close in a particularly positive way, but you do get used to it after a little practice. The flap doesn't completely cover the top of the camera, so it wouldn't protect the camera from rain, but it provides good protection against rough handling.

This little gem is fantastic. Very small and compact , packed with bells & whistles. Others have complained that the battery runs out quickly, well, provided you switch off the 'Sat Nav' and only use it when required, no problem.

The 360 degree panoramic facility is great, does need a steady hand though. Images are superb even set on the 'basic' EXR choice.

Re the alleged problem with the battery running down, why not buy a couple of extra batteries at £4.95 each and keep them close at hand, the other major camera makers would be touching £20.00 for their extra batteries!!!

Good quality product, nice feel, hard to beat at the price.

Nikon Lense Review

GOOD VALUE, NICELY CONSTRUCTED. 9 Nov 2011

I bought this to protect my camera a Nikon P300.

The camera fits nicely into one of the three compartments in the main section of the case. Even with the zip fully open the camera has to be physically lifted out. There is very little risk of the camera falling out by accident with the zip open. The other two compartments in the main section could hold an extra memory card and battery if the compact camera does not have a protruding lens. In the case of the P300, the other two sections are pretty much redundant.

However there is a second smaller compartment on the front of the camera case which is divided into two and could easily hold a spare battery and memory card.

The zips slide easily, the main compartment having two.
It comes with an attachable strap and has a Velcro belt loop. Although the Velcro fastening feels substantial and would fit many belt sizes I am not sure I would use it. I would rather have a solid belt loop that does not open.
On the outside there is some elastic chord that you sometimes find on rucksacks. I suppose it could come in handy for holding something small but I think it is more for decoration.
All in all, good value and does a good job prot

Samsung Galaxy S3 (S III) Benchmarked As Samsung Galaxy GT-I9300

By Susan Hargreaves

A new set of results has just been published after testing of a new Samsung Galaxy model late last month, noted as the Galaxy GT-I9300 which many believe is the model number of the new Samsung Galaxy S3 (S III).

The results of these recent tests through GLBenchmark's suite show a different screen resolution to that of the reported full HD 1080p expected on the new Galaxy S3, instead they show a 1196 x 720 pixel display which is exactly the same as the current Samsung Galaxy Nexus model.
Believed to have been performed by one of Samsung's own employees, the tests also reveal that the processor was listed as 'maxing-out' at 1.4GHz rather than the expected 1.5GHz rumoured to be powering the Galaxy S3, crucially though, there was no information into the number of cores although most now believe that it will no doubt be a quad-core chip.

This is mostly down to the fact that many rival manufacturers are already shipping new smart phone models with quad-core technology, these include the new HTC One X and LG Optimus 4X HD models, what was revealed is the Samsung GT-I9300 tested was running on a Samsung Exynos 4 processing chip which could be either the dual-core Exynos 4212 or most likely the quad-core Exynos 4414.
Another interesting fact to come out of these tests is that this new Galaxy phone features a Mali 400 MP GPU which also featured in the Samsung Galaxy S2, however this still produced a score of 6584 frames (58.3fps) equal to that of the Galaxy S2 despite needing to push substantially more pixels in this new model.

Also confirmed in these tests is that the new model will be running the Android 4.0.3 operating system known as 'Ice Cream Sandwich' which was first launched in the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and is to be available on many new high-end devices such as the Huawei Ascend D quad, HTC One S, V and X models, Panasonic ELUGA Power and LG Optimus Vu.

We do need to remember that all of this information is based on a model called the GT-I9300, although many feel this is the model number of the new Galaxy S3 the specifications above do seem to be a let down to the expected and rumoured pre-launch suggestions.

It could easily turn out to be an entirely different model such as the rumoured Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus which would make sense since the manufacturer has just released the Samsung Galaxy S Plus and S Advance models, the only other reported model number that is known of is the GT-I9500 but it has been reported that this is in fact a device running a new operating system from Samsung and Intel and not a the Android platform at all.

Other rumoured specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S3 include a 4.8 inch touch screen display, a 12 mega pixel camera and a super slim and lightweight form like that of the existing Galaxy S2.

7dayshop Brushed Aluminium Memory Card Case for SD Cards - AL1-SD

My husband bought me this camera as a birthday present, and wow, it's a fantastic product! We went to Prague for my birthday and I took loads of photo's whilst on a coach tour. The quality is outstanding considering it is all cobbled streets there and there is no blurring. The zoom is fantastic and makes far away places appear to be just in front of you! This is my first panasonic camera, but I am certain that it wont be my last...a fantastic buy that I have no trouble recommending to everyone!

Received this free with a Panasonic Lumix TZ7 camera so cannot complain about the price. A substantial case with a belt loop (no shoulder strap) which fits the camera perfectly and has a front pocket which takes a spare battery and SD cards. Very satisfied.

Waterproof Camera Bags Protective and Practical Use

In my opinion: This is an excellently made product and is what it says on the box, a practical protective case to keep those important cards together and safe in your bag or pocket. It has 4 individual holders on one side when you open it and the other side has a hard clear hinged cover over a soft foam pad which will hold cards of different sizes placed randomly to suit.

All in all a very handy item as it is neat and sturdy and was a very good price when I bought it.People usually buy waterproof camera bags whenever they go to the beach or any wet places. This is actually a good alternative to consider so you can simply use your ordinary camera underwater without getting it broken and wet. Many people often end up buying 2 kinds of cameras to satisfy their pleasure in capturing memories in pictures and the most common camera that people buy is the ordinary digital camera while others find the need to purchase another underwater camera to own.

Many people love the outdoor and interact with it. Nature's beauty simply amazes numerous individuals and photography is one of the most common activities with nature. You may risk getting your cameras dirty in the course of taking pictures with nature; hence you need to keep them well-protected and clean at all times. Waterproof camera bags have many purposes and good features. Sometimes going nature tripping will catch you off guard with a sudden rain. Keeping your camera inside a waterproof bag will provide the protection to your camera from getting wet and ruined. You can also keep your digital camera inside this bag when going to the beach to keep it from getting wet.
For big cameras that professionals use, big waterproof camera bags are also available. You can find all of these bags in stores and over the Internet in several online stores. The prices differ depending on the size of the camera and the material used for it. Some bags are zipper locked and it is important to check whether the zipper does work to avoid leakage inside the bag. The best selling waterproof camera bag is one designed for small digital camera that looks like a plastic sealed pouches. Many individuals like it for it is very convenient and practical. It is cheaper and often allows people to take pictures underwater with their non-waterproof cameras. It is practical for many since they no longer have to buy a new waterproof camera.

There are many designs of waterproof camera bags available in the global market. There are certain designs that are exclusively available for specific digital camera models. Scuba divers love this innovative accessory for their digital cameras for they can easily just put their cameras in and seal it and they are good to go. You can use it for safety reason especially when you are traveling in a wet place. In case you drop your gadget in the water, it is completely safe for it is sealed in the waterproof bag. It is very practical to own this kind of camera bag and a good accessory as well for your camera's protection.

Best Camera Cases & Bags

Best Camera Cases & Bags

Manufacturer's DescriptionThe Nova 160 AW includes a 360ยบ All Weather Cover that protects your gear as you work. Sized to carry the most popular consumer digital SLR cameras such as Canon EOS 450D and Nikon D 60, lenses, memory cards and accessories.

INNER DESIGN

The main compartment has two removable dividers which you can adjust by sticking them to the strips of velcro inside the bag. This is handy and flexible if you really needed to organise and hold items into place but at the same time, it can make removing items a little difficult because they tend to catch onto the velcro. The hot shoe did this quite often when taking out the vertically placed 1000D but, you do learn how to take it out without any difficulty eventually.I've managed to find enough room to fit a 18-55mm kit lens and a 55-250mm telephoto lens inside. It feels well cushioned. You'll also find two smaller pockets for memory cards inside when you unzip and lift up the hood of the bag. Even some space for something such as pens and pencils.

OUTER DESIGN

The hood overlaps the zips to the main compartment which means if it rains you don't have to worry too much about any excess water seeping inside to your equipment. Very nice touch.Outside on the back of the bag there is a narrow pocket big enough for filters, batteries, lens hoods, small notepad etc. At each side of the bag where the strap clips onto are two elastic pockets which I don't really use but I found they're flexible enough to fit a bottle of Volvic water if you wanted to or just some rolled up pamphlets.Last but not least, there is another two zipped up pockets at the front of the bag as you can see from the photo. Handy for holding the lens caps or filters when you just want to remove them temporarily. The bottom pocket where the clip is has a very puffed up cushion to it which makes any item inside feel safe and is big enough to hold a point and shoot compact camera.A thick long strap is the main means of carrying this shoulder bag around and has a plastic non-slip padding on it so that it doesn't slide about on your shoulder on the move and minimise discomfort. The handle too is puffed up making it very comfortable to carry around even by hand.

SUMMARYA nice comfortable to carry compact bag with plenty of cushioning and pockets for all those camera accessories.

Packed full of useful features the bag boasts an overflap lid to increase protection from the elements, dual memory card pockets on interior of lid, front accessory pocket, mesh side pockets, padded strap and cushioned grab handle tailored for comfort and durability plus a belt loop so you can wear as a beltpack.A practical choice for the enthusiast or professional. The Nova AW bags let you organize, protect and use your gear with ease.In my opinion I wanted a small compact bag to carry around my Canon 1000D DSLR camera in and after browsing around the shops, this seemed to be the best option for me.
